Gary McKenzie’s Tote 10 to Follow stable
Gary McKenzie runs through the horses in his Tote 10 to Follow competition
Once again I am trying to predict the future. And it is even more difficult this season what with the lack of form and, in some cases, no real idea of where horses are being aimed. But here goes.
I had to leave a few out. Logician looked very good in the St Leger but he had a setback over the winter so I am a bit nervous about him. Enable is another high profile absentee. I think she will have plenty of followers in this competition.
The competition begins on Tuesday 16 June so I am hoping for a good start at Royal Ascot.
BATTAASH and STRADIVARIUS will be very short for the Kings Stand and the Gold Cup respectively. Battaash is ten pounds clear of his rivals and on his day is nigh on unbeatable. Stradivarius is on for his third Gold Cup and will have been aimed at this since last June.
Last years third and fourth in the Arc are my selections to go well again in October.
SOTTSASS had a narrow win in the Prix Ganay but he can come on for that. He can pick up some more races over the Channel.
JAPAN starts his season over ten furlongs in the Prince Of Wales and he is the form choice.
THREAT is on my list as I am hoping he can win the St James Palace Stakes which is a bonus race and worth fifty points to the winner
HELLO YOUMZAIN is my six furlong horse for the season. He was third at the Royal meeting last year having missed the break. I am hoping for a good run in the Diamond Jubilee.
SISKIN and KAMEKO are both classic winners. I had both in my ante post yankee. Unfortunately I had Siskin in the Newmarket Guineas and Kameko in the Derby. I think Siskin could end up being the top miler of his age group while I still have faith in Kameko despite stamina concerns for the Derby.
CAYENNE PEPPER was my Oaks hope. She may not travel over but she can win the Irish version (he says hopefully).
LOVE was very impressive in the 1000 Guineas and she is favourite for the Oaks.
If I can get a few of those Royal Ascot runners in the winners enclosure I will be overjoyed.
Good Luck All
