Triumph Hurdle

The Triumph Hurdle is a Grade 1 hurdle race for horses aged 4 years old. It is run on the New Course at Cheltenham and the runners must jump 8 hurdles on their way round. It is a race for novice hurdlers and is the main event in the National Hunt calendar for juveniles. The race traditionally enjoys a huge roar when they set off with it being the first race on Gold Cup day.

Barry Geraghty is the jockey to have enjoyed the most success in the Triumph Hurdle with 5 wins, whilst Nicky Henderson is the leading trainer with 6 wins.

J P McManus looks set to have a huge say in this year’s running of the race, having a number of top juveniles including Defi Du Seuil and Charli Parcs. So when looking to place any ante post bets, it’s definitely worth keeping an eye out for any of his potential runners.
