DC’s Daily EW Double: Sunday 21 July
2.10 Tipperary: Cenotice
Definite signs of some promise in two starts over fences, finishing third to Wicklow Brave at Ballinrobe ( 2m 1f ) in May, and filling the same position behind Count Simon ( 2m 5f ) at Punchestown last month – on both occasions beaten around four and a half lengths.
He’s a winner of a Point to Point in the Spring of 2018, and took a Maiden Hurdle in April so is not entirely shy of getting his head in front. Looks more than capable of taking a hand in the finish with a clear round of jumping.
2.05 Newton Abbot: Marzano
Has looked somewhat short of pace in three Bumpers to date, and makes his hurdling debut today. Steps up in trip to an extended 2m 5f which will hopefully prove what is needed to show the improvement required to play a part at the business end of matters.
That’s not impossible, and there was a hint of some ability at an ordinary level on the second of those Bumper runs – when a twelve and a half lengths fourth at Stratford. Has an Each Way chance in a race that won’t take a huge amount of winning.
